2026 Qualification Campaign: Become a University Lecturer

[PhD students from all disciplines]
Qualification is a necessary step to become a university lecturer or equivalent staff.
The ODYSSEE application allows candidates to submit their qualification request and track it throughout the review process.
For all candidates, the schedule for the 2026 campaign includes a single phase for registration and submission of required (and supplementary) documents, starting in mid-September 2025 and ending on December 15, 2025.
This single deadline will apply to all candidates regardless of their thesis defense date, as no exceptions are technically or legally possible.
Potential candidates can now create their account on the ODYSSEE application here

  • Note:
If you wish to participate in the 2026 qualification campaign, it is recommended that all candidates anticipate their thesis defense date in order to receive their diploma, certificate, and signed defense report before the application deadline.
We suggest you plan to defend your thesis no later than early December 2025.
